ATD-HCI is a leading association of workplace learning and performance professionals, forming a world-class community of practice. The Heart of Central Illinois Chapter's members come from a variety of organizations: Fortune 500 corporations, medium-sized and small businesses, government, academia, consulting firms, and product and service suppliers. The Heart of Central Illinois Chapter covers northwest to Peoria, southwest from Springfield/Decatur, central to Bloomington/Normal, east to Champaign/Danville and southeast to Charleston/Mattoon.

HistoryThe Central Illinois Chapter was chartered on May 1, 1969. The Heart of Illinois Chapter was chartered on May 1, 1975. On May 8, 2014, the Central Illinois Chapter consolidated with the Heart of Illinois Chapter. The new chapter name is the Association for Talent Development - Heart of Central Illinois Chapter (ATD-HCI).

AwardsThe chapter has won several awards recognizing its achievements. Since its formation in the 1960's, ATD National has recognized the value that the chapter delivers to its members by providing exceptional programming, events, and services. In the 1990's, ATD established "CORE" requirements recognizing leading chapters across the country. ATD-HCI regularly exceeds these requirements. Other awards received by ATD-HCI include the Chapter Achievement Award, Communications Award, Special Projects Award, and in 1990, 1991, and 1992 the chapter received the prestigious "Achievement in Contribution to ATD." award. In 2010, the chapter (operating as the former Heart of Illinois chapter) won a Chapter Excellence Award for Strategic Partnerships.
