PRIMARY POSITION FUNCTION/SUMMARY:
|
The University System Office seeks an Instructional Designer to support the Communications and Policies & Procedures Education function by designing and developing educational and informational programs to enhance the understanding of, and compliance with, business and financial policies and procedures. |
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, and end-users to identify learning needs, objectives, and appropriate instructional methodologies to create high-quality, interactive, courses.
- Design courses, presentations and educational materials using adult learning principles and interactive e-learning models as appropriate.
- Ensure the instructional integrity of course development projects through systematic design and clear writing of scripts, narratives, and storyboards.
- Design and develop learning interventions, using face-to-face instructor-led, e-learning or web-based methodologies as appropriate.
- Communicate frequently and effectively with various project collaborators to ensure that goals and objectives are being met.
- Utilize instructional design software to create and print a variety of materials. Plan and devise the layout of text, photos, illustrations and other media for presentation.
- Coordinate testing and quality assurance processes to meet the highest standards of quality for training course design, materials and other instructional documentation.
- Create media to support learning (e.g., visual aids for face-to-face, multimedia for e-learning or web-based).
- Help establish instructional design and development standards for all existing and future programs and courses. Support the ongoing assessment of instructional effectiveness for all existing and future programs and courses.
- Other duties and responsibilities appropriate for an Instructional Designer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
|
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of experience related to instructional design and learning methodologies
Preferred:
- Master's Degree.
- Three years of experience related to instructional design and learning methodologies, including one year at an administrative level.
- Experience with Lectora, Captivate, Articulate and Camtasia.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to work independently when needed, and collaborate fully with other instructional designers on the team.
- Effective needs analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.
- Understanding of principles of best practice related to online learning and teaching which includes adult learning theory.
- Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand, summarize, and present information in both written and oral formats, including excellent telephone skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Self-initiation and self-motivation for independent follow-through on work activities
